I have recently returned from a trip to the beautiful British Virgin Islands and all I can say is “WOW!” The islands just get better and better.

My first port of call was Lambert Beach Resort and Spa on Tortola where I stayed for 2 nights. I stayed in one of their fairly new Poolside Studios which was very comfortable and although close to the pool, there was no noise whatsoever. A Nespresso coffee machine was provided with plenty of coffee pods and the fridge stocked with drinking water.

The pool at Lambert Beach Resort is the largest in the BVI and only steps from the sand. There is a gymnasium and lovely spa providing a variety of treatments.

Guana Island was my next port of call and stunning as always. 16 cottages and villas are scattered along the ridge affording spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. One of the stand out features of Guana is that every cottage is different with its own unique features. Guana Island is all inclusive and the food is superb.

You can rent Guana Island as a whole island rental for that special anniversary, birthday or other family or corporate event. A wedding on Guana is magical and every detail is taken care of for you.

Next stop was the Sugar Mill Hotel on Tortola. This is a great boutique hotel with a beautiful pool and two of the best restaurants in the BVI.

The Sugar Mill has a spa and a lovely boutique offering lots of beautiful things to wear – I was in there for a very long time!

Rooms are spacious and comfortable with coffee machine, microwave, bathrobes and it doesn’t matter which room you are in at the Sugar Mill, you can see the sea.

For the month of July the Sugar Mill is offering a package with 4 nights at the hotel and 3 nights aboard their 51′ power catamaran “Sweet Dreams”. This is all inclusive with all meals, drinks and return transfers from either the airport or ferry dock.

Cost – $7500.00/£6250 for 2 people plus flights. It really is excellent value for money.

Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda was my next stop and what an incredible resort this is. Each room has two butlers assigned and nothing is too much trouble. Everything is 5 star deluxe from the rooms to the service to the food to the beach…..I could go on!

I walked along the beach and chose my sunbed. A lovely lady called Donna immediately appeared with fresh towels and asked if I would like a drink. A short while later, a smiling waiter appeared offering me chilled fruit kebabs, then a bit later it was delicious canapes. In the afternoon, complimentary ice cream is served from the red telephone box on the beach and afternoon tea is served in the Rum room.

If you want to be active, Rosewood Little Dix Bay offers tennis, pickleball, amazing fitness centre and lots of watersports. They also offer complimentary beach drop offs to other beaches on Virgin Gorda

Dinner was superb and the service friendly and impeccable. This was my dinner view…..

Oil Nut Bay on Virgin Gorda was my final destination in BVI and I was lucky enough to be given a stunning one bedroom villa called Starlight. I had a fabulous pool with spectacular views. There are many incredible villas at Oil Nut Bay ranging from one bedroom suites to 7 bedroom luxury villas. Oil Nut Bay has so many facilities including an overwater spa, incredible fitness centre, two wonderful restaurants, tennis and pickleball courts, and every villa comes with an electric cart so guests can drive themselves around the resort.

On the way home, I stayed in Antigua for 2 nights at the historic and amazing Copper and Lumber Store Hotel. Staying here is like stepping back in time to the days of Admiral Horatio Nelson. It’s a fabulous hotel and the staff is very welcoming and cannot do enough for their guests.

While there, I visited the Admiral’s Inn and Gunpowder Suites – what a great name! The original Admiral’s Inn building dates back to the 18th century but it was turned into an hotel by the owners in the 1960s. The Gunpowder Suites were added in recent years. These suites sit on a headland across the water from the Admiral’s Inn and when guests come over for lunch or dinner or to use the water sports equipment, they just ring the bell and the boatman comes to take you on the 2 minutes journey to the other side. They also provide complimentary transportation by boat to Galleon Beach on Antigua, 5 minutes away. Guests are given beach towels and snorkel equipment if they wish.
