Blue Lagoon Villa

Blue Lagoon offers a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, comfortable lounge and 3 good sized bedrooms which can comfortably sleep 8 people, so it is perfect for families. The indoor dining table can seat 8 people.

The bedrooms at Blue Lagoon all have 40” flat screen TVs and DVD players, air conditioning and ceiling fans. All the bedrooms are en-suite and two have outdoor, as well as indoor, showers.

Blue Lagoon has an elevated covered patio affording stunning views of the beach at Mahoe Bay and the warm Caribbean sea. There is a waterfall that flows from the patio into the swimming pool below and later you may wish to relax in the hot tub with a cocktail and enjoy one of the many spectacular sunsets.

If you prefer to dine al fresco, the outdoor dining table seats 8 and there is also a gas barbecue, wet bar and ice-maker.

If you want to brush up on your putting skills or just have a bit of fun, Blue Lagoon has a first class 4 hole putting green incorporated among the indigenous tropical plants. Clubs and balls are provided. There is also a table-tennis table complete with paddles and ping-pong balls to complete the fun.

Dining at Blue Lagoon is simply amazing with the gourmet kitchen and the lovely al fresco dining terrace. However, it would be a shame not to experience the many wonderful restaurants that Virgin Gorda has to offer. The Sugarcane Restaurant at Nail Bay is about 5 minutes drive from Blue Lagoon and the food is superb. If you go for lunch, you can have a dip in the pool and enjoy a cocktail at the swim up bar. Hog Heaven on Virgin Gorda offers spectacular views of the neighbouring British Virgin Islands and the Friday barbecue and party night at Leverick Bay is a must. Another great restaurant is Coco Maya – they serve fabulous Tapas and you can take an after dinner cocktail onto the beach and sit around the fire pit. There are many more wonderful restaurants and bars on Virgin Gorda to choose from.

Fischer’s Cove on Virgin Gorda has a lovely beachside restaurant and they also offer takeaway pizzas baked in their very own pizza oven.

Blue Lagoon villa has a gas barbecue but if you don’t feel like cooking, BVI Holidays can arrange for your very own chef to come to the villa and cook for you. This service is available at an additional cost.

Snorkelling straight from the white sands of Mahoe Bay is truly amazing and of course free! There are also dozens of other great snorkelling spots on Virgin Gorda and only a few minutes drive from Blue Lagoon.

The tennis courts are a short stroll from Blue Lagoon Villa and are complimentary. A quick call or visit to Blue Rush Water Sports at Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda will ensure delivery of kayaks, snorkel gear and stand-up paddleboards – these are of course chargeable.

Blue Rush Water Sports at Leverick Bay also offer Fly Boarding, with instruction if you are a novice and Up ‘n’ Under Water Sports also at Leverick Bay, offer Kite Surfing and organise guided Kite Surfing safaris around the BVI.

The Nail Bay Sports Club which is 5 minutes drive from Blue Lagoon villa offers squash courts, tennis courts, gym, table tennis, a fabulous restaurant and swimming pool.

Diving can be arranged with Dive BVI who are located at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour and if you fancy a good hike – the views are stunning from the top of Gorda Peak which is a designated National Park.

Day sails are available to book with Captain Dave of Double D Charters and he will take you to some excellent snorkel spots and possibly down to Cooper Island where they have their very own brewery and dedicated rum bar.

After a day of activity you may wish to visit the Spa at Leverick Bay or the spa therapists will be happy to come to Blue Lagoon villa. Nothing is too much trouble.

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
