Nestled on a knoll on Little Mountain, Beef Island and surrounded by six acres of tropical gardens, Allamanda is a luxurious, spacious villa with pool perfect for a family or family and friends group. There are stunning views from all of the rooms and Allamanda offers an interesting and unusual layout.

The main house at Allamanda offers 3 en-suite bedrooms, two of which are King and one of these can be split into twins. The other is a Queen size bedroom. Located in the tropical gardens is a two bedroom cottage and each bedroom has King beds with en-suite bathroom. One of the bedrooms has its own patio.

The Hummingbird Suites is a separate building situated in the tropical gardens of Allamanda housing a King and a Queen bedroom with en-suite bathrooms and each bedroom with its own private patio offering spectacular views over Beef Island to the neighbouring British Virgin Islands. The Hummingbird Suites at Allamanda also have a full kitchen.

The outside areas of Allamanda are all about relaxation. Allamanda has a beautiful infinity pool affording spectacular views of the neighbouring BVI. There are plenty of sunbathing and shady areas where you can curl up with a good book or enjoy a board game with your friends. In the evening, you can sip cocktails around the fire-pit.

You can either use the excellent kitchen facilities at Allamanda to prepare gourmet meals, or it is also possible to hire your own personal chef. If you prefer to dine out, there is a good choice of restaurants within a few minutes drive – de Loose Mongoose beach restaurant at Trellis Bay, Beef Island; Red Rock at East End on Tortola; Brandywine Restaurant also on Tortola or you can venture a little further into Road Town, the capital of the BVI where you have a good choice of excellent restaurants and bars. You can also take the free ferry to Scrub Island which leaves from Trellis Bay on Beef Island every half an hour and dine in one of their wonderful restaurants. Alternatively, stay at Allamanda and enjoy a casual barbecue evening.

Allamanda Villa could not be better placed for exploring all the BVI has to offer. The villa is just 2 minutes’ drive from Long Bay beach on Beef Island. Here you’ll find a crescent of pure white sand, fringed with palm trees.

Trellis Bay, also on Beef Island, is a popular anchorage for yachts. With the bustling Cyber Cafe and full moon party, this area has a real buzzy atmosphere. There are several interesting little shops and coffee stops and a visit to Aragorn’s Studio and art gallery is a must.

Take a day trip to Virgin Gorda or Anegada, you can do this from Beef Island, or a day sail including lunch and snorkel stops to some of the other unspoilt islands in the beautiful BVI. The BVI offers some of the best diving worldwide and this can easily be arranged with Blue Water Drivers located at Nanny Cay on Tortola. The capital of the British Virgin Islands – Road Town is only 20 minutes’ drive from Beef Island and there, you can enjoy some local shopping, take the ferry to Virgin Gorda or choose from the many restaurants and bustling cafes.

A visit to the Callwood Rum Distillery at Cane Garden Bay is a must and you cannot miss soaring high over Tortola on an Original Virgin Canopy Tour – it’s similar to zip-lining and run by professionals. The views are breath-taking. The Botanical Gardens and a trek up Sage Mountain are also worth doing when staying at Allamanda Villa. So many varied and interesting things for you to do in the BVI.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
