Beachcomber Villa

Beachcomber Villa on Virgin Gorda has a fully equipped kitchen affording spectacular sea views, five fully air- conditioned bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms that have indoor and outdoor showers and offer a mix of King and twin bedrooms. One bedroom has 3 single beds making it perfect for children.

The Great Room at Beachcomber has 1,000 square feet of living space with a dining table that seats twelve, satellite TV, a DVD player and stereo to which you can connect your iPhone or mobile device. Complimentary high-speed internet is also available throughout Beachcomber.

Beachcomber Villa is wheelchair accessible including bathroom/shower area with padded shower bench and handheld Shower Wand if required.

Daily maid-service is provided at Beahccomber Villa, with the exception of Sundays and statutory holidays. The service includes making beds, replacing beach towels and keeping Beachcomber villa tidy.

The tropical gardens in which Beachcomber is located are stunning and you could not be any closer to the white sand beach at Mahoe Bay.

Beachcomber Villa has a 50-foot pool with a shallow end for children, and under a covered patio, just off the Great Room, is a comfortable seating and dining area with a state-of-the-art gas-powered barbecue. Beachcomber also has a covered beach patio where you can relax in your hammock and enjoy the beautiful views over Mahoe Bay.

Childrens’ beach toys, pool floats, beach chairs are all provided for your enjoyment.

The owners of Beachcomber Villa have thoughtfully provided facilities for people who have a disability including paraplegic and quadriplegic guests. A Sandrider Wheelchair drives over the sand and goes directly into the ocean.

Right on your doorstep and completely free of charge you have excellent snorkeling and swimming.

Should you wish to rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, contact Blue Rush Water Sports at Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda. They will be pleased to deliver to Beachcomber Villa in advance of your arrival.

At Blue Rush Water Sports, you can try your hand at Fly-Boarding, small boat sailing, rent a power boat or book a day excursion and visit the Caves at Norman Island for excellent snorkelling and the Willy T for a bar experience like no other!

Dive BVI is located at the Yacht Harbour on Virgin Gorda. Diving in the BVI is second to none and if you can’t dive but want to learn, the excellent instructors at Dive BVI will be happy to teach you. The Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour is about 10 minutes’ drive from Beachcomber Villa.

If you would like to have a day out on the water and visit a few of the neighbouring British Virgin Islands, call Captain Dave at Double D Charters and he will take you to the best spots for snorkelling and perhaps lunch on Cooper Island where you can sample beer from the Cooper Island brewery and rum from their distillery. Captain Dave operates out of the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour.

The tennis courts at Mahoe Bay are only a few minutes stroll from Beachcomber and are free to use. Racquets and balls are provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.

The Nail Bay Sports Club is a few minutes drive from Beachcomber Villa and here you can play squash, tennis, table tennis and work out in their air-conditioned gym. Cool off with a dip in their swimming pool afterwards.

Gorda Peak is a designated National Park and hikers will be rewarded with stunning views at the top.

If you would like to take a day trip to Tortola or Anegada, this can easily be done. Ferries operate regularly and the ferry dock on Virgin Gorda is around 10 minutes’ drive from Beachcomber Villa.

Beachcomber Villa has seating for 12 guests either inside or out on the covered patio and if you don’t want to do all your own cooking, an excellent cook can be hired for lunch and dinner. There are however, many wonderful restaurants on Virgin Gorda – Hog Heaven, Coco Maya, The Restaurant at Leverick Bay, Chez Bamboo, Sugarcane Restaurant to name but a few. Dining options on Virgin Gorda are many and varied and all within a short drive of Beachcomber Villa.

Beachcomber Villa provides so much for the comfort of their guests, this really is a home from home but with added luxury. The kitchen offers an ice-maker, dishwasher, coffee maker with coffee provided, coffee grinder. Ceiling fans are in all rooms. There are board games and books, pool floats, beach chairs, childrens’ toys. Hi speed internet is provided throughout Beachcomber. 55 inch flatscreen TV, satellite music channels and the ability to connect your device to the Samsung stereo. There is an outdoor bar and two outdoor refrigerators.

For the little ones – a Pack N Play crib and high chair are provided.

There is a Sandrider beach wheelchair that can roll straight into the water for less physically able guests, which means everyone can join in the fun on the beach.

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight in Antigua, and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. You can either fly onwards via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged. There is a direct flight from Miami to Beef Island, Tortola.

Travelling from the USA

Depending on where you are in the USA, you can fly to Miami or San Juan, Puerto Rico and onwards to the BVI, or another option is to fly to St Thomas and take the ferry to Tortola. BVI Holidays can also arrange a private charter from St Thomas into Anegada, Tortola or Virgin Gorda.

Larger aircraft cannot land in the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised.
